Your State Employee Dental Plan Has Changed

On January 1st, 2016, all state employee dental plans underwent a significant change.

What About My Plan Has Changed?

Previously, dental benefits on all state employee dental plans were linked to their medical plans. This meant that you were required to go to a dentist that was solely in your medical plan’s network. These medical plan networks included:

  • Unity
  • Physicians Plus
  • Group Health Cooperative

How Does This Affect Me?

If you previously had one of these medical plans with a dental rider, you knew that you would only get coverage by going to a dentist within the network of your medical plan. Unfortunately, there were very few – if any – to choose from. For example, if you had your dental coverage through your Group Health Insurance plan, you were only able to go to one dental office in the entire Madison area.

Thankfully, now that the state employee dental plans have changed to Delta Dental of Wisconsin, patients who have these plans are free to go anywhere within the Delta Dental PPO or Premier network for coverage.

Where Can I Go Now for Dental Work?

True, the network of dentists that you can go to for your dental needs has expanded greatly, but you still need to do some research as to what is the best dental office for you and your family. Affiliated Dentists has been serving Madison and the surrounding for nearly 20 years, and we are the trusted dentists of thousands of patients and their families. And, as we are the preferred provider for Delta Dental PPO and Premier plans, we are happy to be the dental office for you and your family for many years to come.

Affiliated Dentists Is Proudly a Preferred Provider for Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier Plans

All of the dentists and hygienists at Affiliated Dentists have been contracted with the Delta Dental PPO and Premier plans for many years. We accept not only the state employee dental plans through Delta Dental of Wisconsin, but we are also preferred providers for all Delta Dental plans throughout the United States.
