Community outreach is an important part of our work here at Affiliated Dentists Madison.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~Winston Churchill
We believe Mr. Churchill had it right, so in addition to providing quality dental services we also strive to be productive partners in helping Madison remain one of the top places in the world to live.
For us this is a labor of love and a personal one at that. Madison isn’t just where we work, it’s where we live. And while we enjoy helping our patients enjoy a greater quality of life, we also seek other avenues to help make an impact outside of our offices.
In addition to providing quality dental services we also strive to be productive partners in helping Madison remain a great place to both live and work. Madison offers both its citizens and businesses fantastic opportunity. We believe the businesses that enjoy the benefits of this community can be an integral force in helping to sustain all it has to offer.
We’re always on the lookout for opportunities to partner with organizations and groups that make it their mission to serve the public good. With that in mind, we’ve worked and offered our time and services to the following groups and organizations.

Global Medical Brigades is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Their mission is to improve the health, sanitation, water, and economic aspects of rural communities. Since 2005 nearly 12,000 volunteers have traveled to Honduras for a week to provide services to low-income rural communities with limited or no access to medicine. Functioning like a mobile medical unit, their group sets up small clinics to diagnose and treat patients at no cost.
This particular program asks for donations before their trip of essential items that will help them aid the people of Honduras, such as tongue depressors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, floss, small bags and medication. This past year Dr. John Busby and his staff at Affiliated Dentists decided to join the cause by donating 500 toothbrushes to the UW-Madison Global Medical Brigades Chapter. These toothbrushes we donated were taken to Honduras with the volunteers this January and were distributed to low-income patients who do not have the ability to maintain good oral care. Due to weather inflicted flight cancellations, some volunteers were unable to make it to Honduras, but those who were able to make it reported back the delight of the children and adults receiving care. Over 800 community members were treated that week, and each received basic hygiene necessities and an education presentation on health. We are thrilled to hear our donation helped so many people who are in great need of dental care, and look forward to donating to this program again!
Pedaling for Pancreas
Wendy and Katy, hygienists at Affiliated Dentists rode in the Pedaling for Pancreas by the UW Carbone Cancer Center on May 10th. It was a 10-mile bike ride following area paths and trails surrounding beautiful Verona, Wisconsin to support new pancreatic cancer research at UW Carbone Cancer Center.
